About Michael

Michael Keith was raised in England, and grew up surrounded by interesting antique furniture pieces collected by his parents. As a teenager, Michael's first summer job involved working in a restoration shop close to his home. He was trained in the art of restoration by Ray White of Ray White Restoration, UK. Here, Michael also learned basic cabinetry work, how to repair and replace wood veneers, inlay work, French polishing, and traditional hand finishes.

Later, he trained in the art of repairing fine porcelain and china. Michael is an expert in timber technology as well as all types of hand and spray finishes. After training and working as a Mastercraftsman in England for over 10 years, Michael moved to the United States in 1995. Michael began his US career working as a shop manager for a fine antique restoration business. He established his own business in Charlottesville, VA in 1997.

Michael and team continue to provide fine antique conservation and restoration, as well as incomparable custom built furniture for discerning clients up and down the east coast.
